The upcoming Star Wars is really a huge deal to Disney. How do you tell besides the obvious? Well, you know it when Star Wars merchandize transcends beyond toys and video games, and start popping up as commercial jet and the latest, as showerheads. Yup. You heard that right. Showerheads. Finally, fans can have their Star Wars fix even while showering and bathe in the galaxy far, far away style with two designs: Darth Vader and R2-D2.
Made by showerhead innovator Oxygenics, both showerheads features anti-clog nozzles, 3 powerful (of course!) spray settings with patented Oxygenics technology, and 2 GPM flow rate.
Apart from the obvious design difference between Lord Vader and R2-D2, the two showerheads also differ in use: Darth Vader is a handheld sprayer, complete with a 6’ long hose, while R2-D2 is a fixed showerhead, and Vader is larger too, at 6” diameter, as opposed R2’s 4” diameter. Clearly, these showerheads are must-haves for fans, and if the fictional galaxy exists, they are sure to be in demand by Vader and the cute droid’s worshippers.
Though it is worthy to note that bathing in Vader’s tears (or spits, depending on which shower mode you chose) will not bestow with unspeakable Force. Also, R2 won’t making any cute noises, nor will it project holographic of Princess Leia pleading for help while you shower. Now for the real good news: you can actually acquire the Oxygenics Star Wars Showerhead from Bed, Bath & Beyond for $24.99 for the R2 version, or $29.99 for the Vader variety.
Beer lovers, you owe it to the world to wear the Beer Bottle Shirt. But don’t worry. It won’t make you look like a walking beer bottle. In fact, you won’t even know that the handsome tee on your back is actually made from used plastic beer bottles. What?! They can do that? Well, apparently, startup PuraKai Clothing just did. Collaborating with Patrick Mills in North Carolina,
Beer Bottle Shirt is made from Patrick Mills’s Earth Spun Yarn, a material born out of recycled plastic beer bottles and if you ask me, it sure makes a lot of sense to me. Why? Each year, over 50 billion plastic bottles are used in the US and only 31 percent of the lot gets recycled. This means landfills and even oceans, gets 69 percent of the ‘waste’. Now, that’s not exactly a good thing.
While recycling effort so far is a good, it just isn’t enough and asking people to use less plastic is simply not a practical approach (actually, more like impossible). PuraKai decided that it is high time to do something to improve the situation. That said, the more Beer Bottle Shirt they sell, the more plastic beer bottles will be recycled. It’s a win-win situation for the company, the consumers and the environment in general. The company can earn something out of it, while consumers can wear something that’s minimalist and stylish and get to reduce the number of plastics going to landfills, or worst, get swept into the ocean.
In case you think trash getting into ocean is no big deal and will “disappear” in no time, well, actually they do disappear, but likely to be swallowed by marine animals that may end up on the our table as food. And so yeah, we pretty much eating the plastic, and any associated toxins that come with it, thanks to our frivolous use of plastic and irresponsible handling of trash. That’s not to say beer lovers are solely responsible for this alarming environment threat; but being a country packed with beer enthusiasts and concerts where beer in plastic bottles are consumed, it makes perfect sense to act on this segment. Besides, it will alleviate the guilt of concert-going, beer-gulping folks the next time they take a sip.
But how much saving are we talking about? Nearly seven 20 oz plastic bottles, that’s how much and on top of that, it will save 18 quarts of water since the fabric doesn’t need to be dye – the fabric colors come from the plastic itself. PuraKai Clothing has bought this awesome idea to Kickstarter where you will be able to pre-order Beer Bottle Shirt or Beanie (with bottle opener) for $30-$35. If all goes as planned, i.e. it gets funded, then you should be seeing your order at your doorstep by December.

Every iPhone case serves to protect the phone it wraps in an unfortunate event of drops, but there’s one case out there that wants to do more protection; it wants to prevent dropping from happening in the first place. We are talking about Loopy Case, a rare breed of iPhone case that has an interchangeable, but sturdy loop (it hold up to 10 lbs!) on its back for your fingers, so you can hold it without worrying about accidentally dropping it.
The case itself is of dual layer TPU that’s crack and chip resistant; a super shock-absorbent interior and full frame bumper with raised lip further adds to the protection – all while adding just 3mm to your device.
Loopy Case promised easy-to-press buttons out-of-the-box and it has oversized audio and charge ports to ensure fitment of third-party accessories. I know most folks will think this is just another case. Well, both yes and no. Yes, it will do the job of protecting the phone from misfortunes like bumps, drops and scratches, but with the loop, it makes handling the phone a lot more secure even when you are not using it.
The loop here is what makes Loopy Case so special; you can grab your Loopy Case-equipped iPhone even when your hands are full without ever worrying about dropping it. While it’s durable enough to let you have a hold on your phone (and using it one-handed), the loop is soft enough to be ‘deformed’ when you slip the device into the tightest pocket. And it can even double as a kickstand too, whenever you need it to be.
Want one? Well, that’s the thing. Loopy Case is yet to be a reality. The product is ready to hit the line, but it needs fund to do that. The team, who is not new to design and making phone cases, btw, is using Kickstarter to raise the money needed. If you want to see Loopy Case becomes a product you can buy, you can pre-order it for $29-$35, depending on how soon you act on it.

Infento is the brainchild of Spencer Rotting and Sander Letema, two Dutch designers that wanted to revolutionize the toy industry. They were inspired by Lego and Meccano, and brought the “build it yourself” concept to rides for kids. The main idea is that your child and you build and customize his/her own ride just the way he/she wants it.
This inspires your child to be creative and get involved in the production process with teamwork. This changes your child’s mindset from a consumer to a maker, which is, some of us would say, one of the most important life lessons. From toddler to teenager, Infento teaches children to be proactive and imaginative.
Infento offers a vast number of kits with all the materials and manuals necessary to build a ride from scratch. A cool design feature is that the whole construction can be done with a single hex key. Also, the manuals are child-friendly and easy to interpret. If you and your kid are feeling creative, you can forego the manuals completely and build your own original ride. Your imagination is the only limitation for the Infento. The various kits come with a wide range of wheels and even skis, so you can make sleds and snow based rides.
Infento’s multi-functional and reusable parts are built in compliance with two criteria, safety and durability. That is why the connecting parts are made from high-quality aluminum giving the ride an exceptional structural security. Infento maintains that any ride constructed with their parts can withstand the weight of an adult, although they recommend that grownups stick to helping with the build, and let their kids have all the fun.
All the other parts are quality made and child-friendly. For instance, Infento opted for a tooth belt instead of a chain for the pedals because of the added safety.
Infento is currently on Kickstarter. It has surpassed the initial goal of $ 50,000 by more than 6 times that amount giving insight into the project’s quality and popularity.

Weehoo is famous for their bicycle trailers for children, like the iGo Venture and the iGo Two. Their newest design in 2015 is the iGo Turbo, a streamlined, improved version of their trailers. Now it is possible for you to go on amazing bike trips with your kid following you in toe (or more precisely, wheel).
Like other Weehoo models, the iGo Turbo is a single wheel bicycle trailer that is outfitted with pedals, so your child can join you in propelling the bike forward while enjoying the view.
The 2015 model has an improved main frame, that has a curved connection arm to accommodate most bike models. It also has a more ergonomic and comfortable, padded seat and safer pedals with straps. Weehoo has also provided included panniers positioned on each side of the wheel for added cargo capacity. The whole trailer weighs just 27lb which makes it easier to pull around.
The padded seat has a 3-point harness and hand grips for a greater sense of security and can be adjusted easily and without tools. Another safety feature is the enclosed sprocket and chain. The iGo Turbo can seat kids from 2 to 9 years old and has a maximum weight capacity of 80lb. Weehoo also offers a variety of additional accessories (like the rain cover canopy) for the iGo that are sold separately.
